What is Naturopathy?
Naturopathy is a philosophy of managing health through the application of naturally occurring substances. It is not the practice of medicine. Typically, a naturopathic doctor uses air, water, light, sound, color, electricity, scents, food and herbs, and exercise coupled with massage to address a myriad of health issues.
The employment of synthetically produced substances, and drugs, surgery, and invasive diagnostic procedures usually fall under the purview of mainstream medicine. A naturopath seeks to find the underlying imbalance in the body, and correct it to restore health, naturally and without disruption of the body’s physiology. The emphasis is on education.
Iridology is the study of changes in the iris of the eye which punctuate the strengths and weaknesses of an individual. These clues are helpful in plotting a course through life by embellishing the strong points and buttressing the weaknesses through diet and lifestyle modifications. The iris gives a strong indication of our constitution and provides the ability to deal with our life plans in 10 year increments. The art of Iridology goes back to the times of the Macedonians and comes to us with modern refinements from Dr. Bernard Jensen and Dr. Pesek, and many other contributors who have helped mold this into a very valuable tool for assessing wellness.
An iridology examination takes only a few moments, but the research and correlation of the findings may take weeks, before a finished report is generated. This procedure is offered at the Natural Path.
Diet and Wellness Counseling
Remember that you cannot look at one part of a person and see the whole picture. As a client of The Natural Path, you are expected to take an active part in your health and wellness program. Instrumental to this, is the keeping of food logs, which are analyzed at each appointment. Your diet will be critiqued and discussed with you in great detail. Changes, if necessary, should be gradual, and gently introduced.
Emphasis will be placed on proper nutrition and tailoring it to suit your own particular needs. Balance is an essential factor in the physiological make-up of the human architecture. Correction of imbalances will often result in a healing crisis. That is, a renewal of symptoms with a re-experience of sickness and often the pains that accompany it. This is explained in Herring’s Law of Cure. It is a common phenomenon, and well accepted in the Naturopathic community as a sign that progress is being made.
