Diet and Wellness Counseling

Remember that you cannot look at one part of a person and see the whole picture.  As a client of The Natural Path, you are invited to take an active part in your health and wellness program.  Instrumental to this, is the keeping of food logs.

Your diet will be discussed with you in great detail.  Changes, if necessary, should be gradual .  Emphasis will be placed on proper nutrition and tailoring it to suit your own particular needs.

Balance is an essential factor in the physiological make-up of the human architecture.  Correction of imbalances will often result in a healing crisis.  That is, a renewal of symptoms with a re-experience of sickness and often the pains that accompany it.  This is explained in Herring’s Law of Cure.  It is a common phenomenon, and well accepted in the Naturopathic community as a sign that progress is being made.

At The Natural Path, our credentialed, experienced staff have offered counseling for just about every health situation you may imagine.  Our success rate in digestive disorders and nutritional imbalances is without equal.  Let us show you how easy it is to modify this facet of your life with the proper guidance.  Come see us today!

The Natural Path at Work … A Testimonial

TNP-FrontThe Natural Path came to my rescue after I had been diagnosed with stage IV prostate cancer.  Drs. Carl Fusco, NMD, and Diana Pengitore, ND, furnished natural products and instructions to help me in my fight for life. They explained that the products would help me regain my energy levels, stop my weight loss and help my body fight the cancer and eliminate unwanted toxins.

Following this regime, I felt my energy levels increasing after the third day. My appetite improved by the end of the first week and my overall physical condition was much better as was noticed by friends that visited after the first week beginning the protocol.

I am now into the fourth month of following the regime recommend by “The Natural Path” and can honestly say I am doing well and am extremely pleased with my progress. I know and feel that what was recommended is helping me in my battle with cancer, and would recommend to anyone, that may be dealing with any sort of health issue or who wishes to improve their over all health and well being, to try the natural approach.

Editor’s Note:  This client is now 33 months into his treatment with The Natural Path, and is active and pain free. The PSA scores have continued to decline and he is showing no signs of advancing disease.

1-26-2016  STILL going strong! PSA scores are in the normal range, and cancer appears to be in remission.  STILL NO CHEMO OR RADIATION!

Heavy Metals, Chelation, and YOU!

The effects of heavy metal toxicity on the body and what to do…

What are Heavy Metals?

Who is at risk?  Why should we worry?

Smokestacks_jpeg1-199x300There are many types of metals which may cause symptoms of illness based on the degree and length of exposure. Heavy metal (not the music) is the term used for certain elements that are ranked by their atomic weight with regard to the periodic table of elements. Some, such as cobalt, copper, iron, manganese, molybdenum, vanadium, strontium, and zinc, are essential to health in small, trace amounts. Harmful to health in excessive amounts and found in many products, both household and industrial,  include cadmium, antimony, chromium, mercury, lead, and arsenic.  Of this group, mercury, lead, and arsenic are the most common in cases of  toxicity.

EVERYONE is exposed to heavy metals. For the most part, your body handles it, but some have higher exposures than others due to their occupations.  Welders, pharmaceutical workers, pesticide handlers, painters, metal and chemical workers are at higher risk than the rest of the population, just to name a few. However, no one is safe. Heavy metals are abundant in the air we breathe, the water we drink and bathe in, and the food we eat. Pollutants are discharged into our air from factory and vehicle emissions.  Acid rain brings these pollutants to the soil as well as rivers, streams, and aquifers.  Chemicals used to kill insects and more…

 Physiological Significance

traffic-jam_jpeg-300x218If this scene looks familiar, chances are you’ve inhaled quite a few molecules of heavy metals in the form of gasses which bypass the liver’s detoxification process, and proceed directly to your blood stream.

Heavy metal toxicity can cause:

· Sleep disruption
· Lethargy (chronic fatigue)
· End organ damage (liver, kidney, lungs, heart, brain, eyes, bones, and skin)
· Shortness of breath
· Nerve damage (neuropathy, muscle cramps)
· Cancer
· Birth defects, miscarriage, and infertility

Chelation: Facts and Myth

Chelation is the removal of heavy metals from the body by combining with another agent, and excretion from the body.  IV (intravenous) chelation with EDTA has been scientifically proven to be ineffective against heart disease and reducing plaque build up in the arteries.

FACT: IV EDTA, regardless of protocol, is quackery and dangerous.  It has caused death due to hypocalcemia and does NOT improve outcomes in autism.

Oral chelation with EDTA is effective in the reduction of lead levels and some other heavy metals, but is ineffective in arsenate poisonings.

At The Natural Path, our position is to screen for the presence of heavy metals though the use of an early detection urine toxicity screen.

Most medical practitioners do not screen for the presence of heavy metals unless their experience or training (OCC MED) raises a high level of suspicion for symptom causation.  By the time heavy metal toxicity is found through serum analysis,  organ damage has been done.

Oral chelation, in combination with immune support and a diet rich in natural chelators, is much more effective in reducing the toxic levels of heavy metals.  Engineering (controls) safeguards for those involved in industrial exposures are, and will always be, the best method of preventing toxic exposure.

If you have concerns about heavy metal toxicity, please do not hesitate to contact us.  We will provide you with a plan to deal with your health related issues that does not involve life-threatening, expensive, and ineffective methods.
